Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: New Evidence Suggests a September Release

Tony Todd, who portrays Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, seemingly confirms that the rumored PS5 title will launch in September 2023.

Candymanalum Tony Todd, who portrays Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has confirmed that the highly anticipated Insomniac Games title will launch on the PlayStation 5 this September.

The official PlayStation blog revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was slated for a fall 2023 launch. Thanks to Todd, however, fans have now been given an even more precise timeframe for the release. “Looks like September!” The actor was responding to a Twitter user. “Massive publicity is expected in August. So I was told, commercials begin dropping in [A]ugust. Keep your eyes on your … and hold your breath! Gonna be necessary.”

Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be exclusively available for the PlayStation 5. The game is a direct sequel to Insomniac’s title 2018 Marvel’s Spider-Man and its 2020 sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Marvel’s Spider-Man was initially released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on September 2018. An upgraded version was released for the PlayStation 4 and PS5 in 2022 and 2020. Miles Morales launched simultaneously on the PS4 and PS5 in November of 2020 before launching on PC in 2022.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Stars Two Spider-Men

Marvel’s Spider-Man allows players to take on the role of the first Spider-Man, Peter Parker, for an open-world adventure in the Big Apple. Miles Morales, like its name, suggests shifts the focus to Miles, Peter’s protege and the other Spider-Man. The spinoff game centers on Miles as he strives to become a hero in himself as he’s the sole protector of New York by himself. The forthcoming Spider-Man 2 sequel from Marvel Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter and Miles as the playable protagonists. The primary villains in the sequel are likely to be Venom and Kraven as well as the Hunter.

Insomniac is developing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game centers around the titular mutant superhero. It is set within the same universe as the Spider-Man titles. Similar to Spider-Man 2, Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled to release as a PS5 exclusive. However, there is no time frame for its release at the moment. Some reports suggest Marvel’s Wolverine could launch anytime from late 2023 to sometime in 2025.
