When Yondu Meets Mary Poppins: A Guardians of the Galaxy Cosplay Fusion
Classic Disney meet the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Guardians of the Galaxy’s Yondu Udonta meets Mary Poppins in a series of photos that show cosplay.
Costumed cosplayers who dress as Yondu and Mary Poppins Udonta join forces and mix classic Disney with Guardians of the Galaxy.
Two cosplayers have been dressed as Mary Poppins and Yondu, holding the umbrella. The picture was posted on Reddit by user u/MakEnt75. Yondu’s costume is complete with a Baby Groot perched on his shoulder, as well as a glowing Arrow Controller. The caption for the picture reads “I’m Mary Poppins y’all” a nod to a line from Yondu (Michael Roker) from the 2017 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The ongoing saga of Guardians within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to close in 2023 with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. James Gunn (writer/director) stated in a December interview 2022 that he went into the project with a sense of the low expectations that are associated with the third installment of a trilogy.
“The number of good third episodes in the trilogy, I could count them on one hand,” he said. “Basically, there’s the Before Sunriseseries. Lord of the Rings. Spider-Man. There aren’t too many good third ones.” The director further said that it took him longer to create the script for Vol. The initial two Guardians films as well as The Suicide Squad from 2021 took longer to write. He also stated that it was worthwhile to perfect the story.
James Gunn’s Expectations for GOTG Vol. 3
Gunn previously talked about his ideas for the tone of the 3rd guardians film and said that “the third films in the majority of trilogies are a mess.” According to the filmmaker the film’s coming out is “so huge and dark and distinct from what the public might be expecting it to be.” He admitted that trilogy swansongs often are disappointed, but said “not all the time.”

Gunn who was recently named co-head of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, previously stated that he was prepared to go away from the MCU in the last Guardians movie. “I feel very comfortable. I feel great. “We have done the job,” he said. “I think that Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” was a bit of silly fun the Guardians needed to have an aperitif prior to Volume 3. which is a massive film. “I had a plan since the very beginning.”
Based on the synopsis for Vol. The eponymous group will “look a little different now,” as Chris Pratt, Star-Lord’s Peter Quill, still deals with “the death of Gamora.” But, he’ll be required to gather the team for the new mission, which involves the Guardians protecting not only the universe, but one of their own. The synopsis says that should this mission fail, “it may lead to the demise of the Guardians, as we know them.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5.
